Robin Poitras, artistic director of New Dance Horizons, which she co-founded in 1986 in Regina on May 15, 2015.Poitras has been involved with the world of dance since the 1980s, co-founding New Dance Horizons, a not-for-profit dance studio in Regina where she still acts as artistic director, in 1986.
Throughout her years as an artist, Poitras has explored the ways in which dance and movement intersect with other disciplines and art forms, leading her to develop a unique interdisciplinary approach to performance. “Robin Poitras is the embodiment of creative passion,” said a written citation from Thursday’s ceremony.
