Page and Phoebe Dynevor were breakout stars as Simon, the Duke of Hastings, and Daphne Bridgerton, the couple whose sweeping romance was at the center of Season 1 of the series.alum Page had only been contracted for one season, and the plan was always for him to only do Season 1, based on the first, sources said. His character will be referenced going forward though he won’t appear.
Normally he’s only in one scene in the second book. He can easily be replace by any other character... I mean it’s Anthony and Kate the center of the second book... and a very cute corgi XD

I never watched Briderton but the series will take a hit with Rege Jean Page gone. I know Shondaland is following the book, so The Duke is gone by book two but good or bad, The Walking Dead didn't follow the text it came from & ratings increased early on. bridgertonnetflix
