SAN MATEO COUNTY – A 28-year-old Redwood City man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and half a dozen other serious crimes, authorities said.
Just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 2900 block of Crocker Avenue in North Fair Oaks for a report of a physical altercation between a man and a woman, Lt. Jacob Trickett said in a news release. Trickett said deputies learned the man had physically assaulted the woman — causing serious injury — before stealing a vehicle and leaving the scene.
Around 12:45 a.m. Thursday, California Highway Patrol officers stopped the man in Monterey County and contacted the sheriff’s office. Deputies took custody of the man and booked him into county jail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, carjacking, criminal threats, robbery, domestic battery and kidnapping.
