Immediately after Jan. 6, it seemed hard not to see the event for what it was: a violent storming of the Capitol by Trump supporters bent on upending Biden's election. But since then, separate versions — one factual, one false — have taken hold.

“We keep using terms like post-factual, but it almost feels like there’s this national psychosis or amnesia about what happened a year ago,” says Charles Sykes, the former conservative Wisconsin radio host and founder of the website The Bulwark. “It’s not just that we’re two nations. It’s as if we live on two different reality planets when it comes to the memory of Jan. 6.

To counter such misrepresentations, other documentary projects have tried to capture Jan. 6 in rigorous, methodical detail. Jamie Roberts’ HBO documentarywas motivated in part to firmly establish a visual chronology of that day, with the rampage following Trump’s incitement to his followers to “fight like hell.”

“I had people who were in the film texting me saying: ‘Why the hell didn’t you put that in your film? You’re liars,’” Roberts says. “What I was hoping with the project was to put some very hard and fast facts together with people who can tell the story from a witness perspective. But for some people, it’s still not going to reach them.

Instead of receding into the past as an anomalous threat to the heart of American democracy, the history of the Capitol riot is yet to be fully written. Some projects are ongoing. To tell the story of Jan. 6,. Some of the stories — like those of staffers who have since quit government and returned home — are particularly haunting for the society’s president, Jane L. Campbell.

Trump won in January 6th. I am not an American but definitely Trump must have won, he was cheated.

Everything these days is about THE VIRUS,so...

Both versions are probably false

People who compare Pearl Harbor or 9/11 or use the same language associated with those events to Jan 6 are just ignorant. Jan 6 is a tragic event but not a day that will live in infamy. Only partisan hacks believe that.

FBI just released a statement . NO EVIDENCE Trump or his admin was involved in any organized plot in the protest at the capital nor were they involved in ANY effort to overthrow the government. No conspiracy. Most plp charged by DOJ was for trespassing.Another ex of network lies

And the press has let the GOP off the hook by not pushing them to be clear on their stance and evidence for what happened that day.

Republicans in Congress, + their constituents, don’t believe Trump won the election anymore than he does. They use “a stolen election” falsehood as a means of fomenting the faux rage that holds their white supremacist base together.

Check your facts AP..the only violence was perpetrated by Antifa and counter protesters...maybe the feds should release all that video footage they are withholding. We already know Chris Wray lied to the Senate

So what do call the Russia hoax? Or we just forgot about that

DeadHeartedRob MAGATs still say it wasn't them who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6th. Why don't we ask all those convicted of the riot that day who they are and their affiliation. And they pleaded guilty. And by the way Fox News won't invite them on. Why not.

They should stage a re-enactment on 1/6 like civil war re-enactments but have the rioters and pre-game republican cheerleaders played by kindergarteners. That'd be hilarious...wearing little viking horns and carrying their little flags. Make sure they wear face masks of course.

Painfully sad

This is misinformation. needs to be banned!

Putting Jan 6 2021 in historical perspective:

Loose separate timelines people who either believe that they're here to live or people who believe that they're here to die and all the fractions that divides them

Haaaaaa

How many masks do I wear tommorow 13? Or zero.. N95 or just underpants

You should watch this to find out why the All Prol news will keep the Fake News going:

Feds involved in both versions

We see you for what you are. You are losing control. How does it feel to know no one trusts you anymore and you only have yourself to blame?

Not as violent as BLM Antifa riots which left cities looking like a war zone. Still have yet to see Ray Epps get arrested for encouraging people to storm the Capitol. Somehow he was taken off the FBI most wanted list. January6thCmte is worthless.
