Real-Life ‘Wolf Of Wall Street’ Jordan Belfort Sues Filmmakers For $300 Million

Red Granite Pictures for $300 million over its CEO’s ties to a Malaysian money laundering scam.

Belfort claims Red Granite lied about being “legitimately funded” when he sold them the rights to his story.accused of laundering nearly $250 million from Malaysian state-fun firm 1MDB into his personal bank accounts in order to finance, Belfort alleges that Aziz hid “these criminal acts and funding sources from him,” which “blindsided” him, and that he never would have sold his rights to Red Granite if he had known.

Belfort’s lawsuit is “nothing more than a desperate and supremely ironic attempt to get out from under an agreement that for the first time in his life made him rich and famous through lawful and legitimate means,” Matthew Schwartz, an attorney from the famed Boies Schiller Flexner firm representing Red Granite,
