Wise advanced to regionals by winning all four events at the District 27/28-6A area meet April 20. She enters the regional meet as the top qualifier in 300 hurdles from the area meet. The next-fastest qualifier is sophomore teammate Isabella Dagrosa .
Wise recorded a season-best 43.59 at last year in winning the regional before finishing ninth at state to cap her first year in hurdles. McHugh laughed when she recalled telling Wise last year: “If you fall again, we are abandoning this event.”
