Davidson County Criminal Court Judge Jennifer Smith granted Vaught the judicial diversion Friday and rejected the prosecutor's argument for an enhanced sentence, the report noted.Vaught accepted her responsibility and role in the death, Smith said. The former nurse will be granted the opportunity to see her convictions dismissed upon the completion of her probationary period, according to the report."I want to assure the Murphey family that the court is deeply sorry for their loss," Smith said."Going forward, I hope [this case] prevents this type of situation from happening again.""I will never, ever forget my role in this. I don't know what else to say that would make anything different.
