Hopes for a peaceful start to the new year after record-setting killings in 2021 were quickly dashed when three people died in separate quintuple and triple shootings in Philadelphia Saturday morning.

Investigators were hoping to gather surveillance video to help find the shooter.

The party was being held at what appeared to be an auto parts business on the 100 block of East Luray Street, he said. The deaths in both shootings are the first of 2022 and a continuation of the record-setting homicide numbers seen the prior year., a number that could also rise once the Philadelphia Police Department updates its statistics. Those killings were the most since the city began keeping track in 1960, and they eclipsed the previous record of 500 slayings in 1990.

, something pushed by both activists and fellow lawmakers as a way to clear red tape and expedite resources to combat the problem.

Shocker

It’s almost like simply starting a new calendar year isn’t a fix for gang violence… Strange.

KILADELPHIA DISEASE IS WORST THAN POLICE SHOOTINGS AND COV-19 COMBINED ? 🥺😢😥🌹🙏🙏🙏

Continued poor leadership.

OHHHHH MYYYYY

Let’s just stop with a gun violence, this is gang violence

The new year is only hours old and the same situation continues. Where is the National Guard?

What is it going to take to get this city under control?
