With Chase Garbers out for at least six weeks due to injury, Boerne product Quinten Dormady will be San Antonio's starter at quarterback this week.

Drafted to the San Antonio Brahmas in January, Boerne product Quinten Dormady hoped for a homecoming free of pitfalls, finally seeing a clear path to show his capabilities on the field. Allegations that he leaked plays to an opponent as a member of the XFL ’s Orlando Guardians last year marked the latest setback in a career sidetracked by a long list of injuries and a search for substantial playing time.

” Garbers averaged 35 pass attempts per game through his three outings with San Antonio, and Smith said he expects Dormady, too, to “throw it like there’s no tomorrow.” Playing in seven games for the XFL’s Orlando Guardians last season, Dormady eclipsed 40 pass attempts twice, finishing the year with 1,507 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions on 68.3% completions. “I don’t think he expects any less. The offense will not change,” Smith said.
