While I’m bummed that it ended, what we ended up with was a beautiful insular love story between two flawed and unapologetically queer characters. I’m going to hold onto that because it’s something that I may never see again in my lifetime.

Not surprised. The show had way too much drama and everyone was toxic to the point that i was confused on why they still hung out with each other. I was curious about that cliffhanger though.

It was unwatchable drivel. I'm surprised it got one episode.

It started off so good but got a bit dull towards the end imo

Honestly half of the arguments in these comments come off as “we don’t like seeing a bunch of yt people who are all able bodied doing the exact same thing they did years ago.” Parties change, sex health change, trauma changes and so do the narratives.

Honestly, this was such a good successor and relevant to what’s happening now a days. Such a dynamic look at queer lives, but also such good character drives. Sad to see their stories end here.

my husband and i wanted to watch the series, and we would’ve watched it on either netflix, hulu, hbo, or paramount+ and i only pay for hulu lmao…all the other ones i got for free from internet & phone providers…

While I think making a 'fresher' version of the 2000s show was a good idea clearly did not work. Why not create something totally new might be difficult but still.

New series sucked. After first 20 minutes, I shut it off.

Praise Jesus.. I couldnt get beyond the first episode. It was so bad it wasnt even good. Ill stick to the UK and Showtime versions.

I totally saw this comment, Sorry but we did not connect with this version. The casting was bad, and the show.. not the same as the original.

Whelp……saw that coming……it simply wasn’t well written and too many tropes and choices

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

This show was amazing

I only watched 2 episodes of this and thought it was pretty terrible. It just felt like ALOT was going on.

I’m going to blame the writing 💯

I’m not surprised at all. As Queer people continuously having our stories focus solely on trauma is exhausting. We live through it everyday- we deserve positive and healthy storylines.

Infernooooo

Noooooo

The amazing VampireAcademy is pretty much doomed. Nothing on your service really lasts more than one season and definitely not 2

It was awful. From the pilot, the show should have been canceled. Yea it’s about our community - but everything that’s gay isn’t good. This is an example. It was bad.

Yeah this is why Peacock sucks and is doing $1.99 promotions!

Mmmm I don’t know. Maybe because the main star gets together with the Trans woman at the end. Not enough G,L,B

American QAF wasn’t that heavy until the end… reboot chose to begin with the trauma instead. That’s a hard sell to a viewer, especially when it’s intentionally similar to what happened 6 years ago at Pulse. I, for one, chose not to relive that.

It should have been cancelled when the Pilot was seen by the execs before it ever made it to the TV screen. It was a disaster from the writing table and only hurt the actual community by just existing. A total flop that never deserved oxygen from the start.

Been reading all over the internet the same , the majority feels the G, L and B have been replaced for T, non binary,in the tv shows, I don’t know if this is true, but is a coincidence I read this everytime a forum is discussing a tv show with LGBTQ characters.

The original slays this messy reboot. I can watch those five seasons nonstop!

Yay. It was awful in pretty much every way. Gay culture was far more interesting and exciting before it became ‘queer’.

The writers doomed it at the table.

Totally not surprising. This show was an abomination just trying to benefit from the legacy of the two prior versions of QAF without actually bringing anything to the table. It was way too much non binary and T with hardly any actual G or B, and the L was just a mixed up mess.

There was a reboot?

A gay show canceled? We lesbians celebrate 💃🎉

Not surprised at all, because it was boring AF, everyone was just annoying and having sex with each other all the time 🙄 😒

It was bad.

Queer as folk is a cool show.. the homos aren't losers..

I didn’t even know there was a reboot

For one, half the gays I know said they were just not going to pay for yet ANOTHER streaming service. And the other half that did watch it say they never connected with the series. I think most just didn’t want to pay and lack of promotion of the series itself.

No, the cliffhanger was so good! 😨 QueerAsFolk

Thank God.

😂 it was so bad

Deservedly So! DUD!

I hope another streaming service picks it up. We need this show.

yesss

Good

We all know why but can't say lest we offend

Is anyone surprised? I chose to rewatch QAF US 2000 a few months ago. If nbc peacock wants to hire me,I would happily explain why your reboot failed. It was an obvious flop by the time episode 1 aired.

Because WE WANT THE ORIGINAL CAST BACK peacock

Good.
