European royal Queen Margrethe of Denmark has decided that all flags will fly at half-mast at Amalienborg Palace in honour or Prince Philip's funeral on Saturday

April 14, 2021 - 09:50 BST Gemma Strong Prince Philip's death promoted messages of condolence from royal houses around the world. But for one European monarch, his passing came as a great personal loss.

A statement issued by the Danish court confirmed:"Her Majesty the Queen has decided that on Saturday 17 April 2021, flags will be flown at half-mast at Amalienborg on the occasion of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh's funeral."The prince's funeral will take place from St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle at 16.00 Danish time. Prince Philip, who was born Prince of Greece and Denmark, died on 9 April. Prince Philip was 99 years old.
