Her grandson Prince William is on his way to see her along with Prince Edward, Prince Andrew and her sister Princess Anne.
Truss subsequently tweeted saying: “The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime. My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”

Our prayers for the Queen for soon recovery.
She's 96, I'm pretty sure she's been under medical supervision for the last 20 years.
Suspicious timing. Two days ago the new Prime Minister Liz Truss kissed her hand She could easily have poisoned the Queen with one of those spike-on-a-fingertip things.
Psst. Princess Anne is her daughter, not sister. Sad that we might be living the final moments of Her Majesty's long reign. The UK will be forever changed without her.
She died in January
The media will be a pain in the arse for weeks when it happens!
Now the real reason….and Meghan continues to make it about her. That woman makes me sick
Oh
