In a propensity-matched cohort of young adults with and without EDs, a wide variety of psychiatric disorder s including depression and anxiety, as well as cannabis and alcohol use disorders, were more common in those with EDs, investigators found.
"To our knowledge, this is the first study using a real-world, multistate administrative dataset to estimate the prevalence of psychiatric comorbidities in young people diagnosed with an eating disorder," Liu said.
