SAN ANTONIO - We're digging deeper into new ideas proposed to protect you from loose and dangerous dogs.If you want the city to investigate a potentially danger

People sometimes don't report these issues for fear of retaliation, but now, city leaders are proposing a new way around that.

"In the past, we have heard that neighbors have been threatened by the owners of these dangerous dogs," Menendez said. According to arrest records, Cardona is the sister of Abilene Schnieder, one of the dog owners who is facing charges in the deadly mauling. The victim told police that Cardona made several threats last February because they gave witness information to police and other officials. Cardona is currently on bond for that offense and awaiting trial.

"The fact of the matter is, we need to do something to help our community now. We cannot keep waiting," Menendez said.
