SALT LAKE CITY — A day after a graphic video was released showing police officers beating 29-year-old Tyre Nichols in Memphis a few weeks ago, people all over the country are calling for systemic change — including in Salt Lake City.
“We need people to continue the work that was started in 2020, to kind of continue to pressure that we apparently need to continuously put on decision-makers and lawmakers for us to get any justice, for us to make sure that our communities are safe,” said Martinez.

BREAKING: The Memphis Police Dept. has released body cam footage showing the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols. “These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard.” -Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Why the hell did the kid fight them at the traffic stop? Cops were en masse for sure and the beating at the second location is just plain murder, but why did the kid put up such a fight at the first stop? How did he try to flee on foot and they dragged him aggressively from the car? This makes no sense.
