The pregnant royal is patron of the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity August 16, 2021 - 07:34 BST Ainhoa Barcelona Princess Beatrice has opened up about her unborn baby and her stepson, saying that if any children of hers were diagnosed with dyslexia they would be"lucky" Princess Beatrice is on a mission.
Beatrice has been patron of the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity since 2013 and her passion to speak openly about dyslexia is immediately clear to see from the first few minutes of our call. "That's what I really love about what we're trying to do and the fantastic work that Helen Arkell is really supporting. How do we inspire things to be done in a different way? It's not a one size, one solution fits all model. And I think that really needs to be talked about.
Giovanna: Before you were told you had dyslexia aged seven, what was that run-up in school like? "I remember feeling really confused – an overwhelming sense of, 'Why does this all feel a little bit muddled? Why do I feel like these words on the page are just a bunch of… What is going on here? What am I expected to do with this?' Maybe it's a personality trait, but I don't like feeling muddled.
Why would you wish that on your child?
A gift when your life is privileged and gifted and you have the best support. Many children wait for years for a diagnosis let along support in school.
The stupid woke speak is infuriating. Sounds like that´s also York speak. Her said she was proud of all her mistakes as well 🙄.
I have dylexia and I'm a writer it's not that much of a ‘gift’ when you can't spell simple words and need spell check 24/7
