Prince William Says It's 'Absolutely Fine by Me' If His Kids Were LGBTQ+

When asked how he'd feel if his children came out as LGBTQ+, the Duke of Cambridge said it would be"obviously absolutely fine by me" and that he'd"support whatever decision they make."

On Wednesday, Prince William paid a visit to akt, a national charity that focuses on LGBTQ+ youth homelessness. According to the organization, it marked thea member of the royal family has ever visited an LGBTQ+ youth charity. The Duke of Cambridge helped launch akt's new YouthSpace in Hoxton, and met with staff, volunteers, and young people.

Speaking to one young person, he said,"I think you really don’t start thinking about that until you are a parent, and I think: obviously absolutely fine by me."However, he admitted he is concerned about potential"backlash" and how his kids' sexualities would be"interpreted and seen" in their public roles as members of the royal family. He noted that he and Duchess Kate"have been doing a lot of talking about it to make sure they were prepared.
