The royal family has come together this morning for the procession of the late monarch's coffin, as well as a reception at the Palace of Westminster. The coffin is now being moved from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall in London. There, it will lie in state for four days, and mourners will be able to visit it to pay their respects.
Then, on Monday, September 19, a state funeral for the queen will be held and is expected to draw a crowd of nearly one million mourners, in addition to the royal family. The queen's final resting place will be St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, where she will be buried next to her husband of 70-plus years, Prince Philip.
Working royals are dressed in military uniforms, as is the custom, to honor the late queen. Non-working royals, like Prince Harry and Prince Andrew, are in black mourning suits. Princess Kate, Duchess Meghan, and Queen Consort Camilla are also dressed in elegant black looks.
