Coronavirus fears have prompted the Democratic debate planned to be in Phoenix to be moved to a studio in Washington, D.C.

But the event was dramatically scaled back earlier this week because of the new coronavirus outbreak, whichon 26 European countries in an effort to stop the spread of the virus. The debate was scheduled to take place at the Arizona Federal Theatre, the downtown Phoenix venue long known as Comerica Theatre.Organizers also halted plans for a debate spin room and press filing center.

The Phoenix debate was sponsored by CNN and Univision and in partnership with CHC Bold, the political arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
