Houston Academy and Enterprise both won all three of their games Monday during the opening day of the Gulf Coast Classic III Tournament in the Gulf Shores area.

Houston Academy 2, Springville 0: Braya Hodges pitched a four-inning, two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and two walks. Houston Academy 12, Pleasant Valley 1: Braya Hodges earned the pitching win, striking out six over three hitless innings, including the 500th strikeout as a Raider pitcher. Emily Adams worked the final inning, allowing a hit.

Ansley Reeves and Lila Faulk both had a hit and one RBI. Hutto drove in two runs, both off sacrifice flies. Lee Lott added an RBI ground out. For Dothan, Ashlynn Sasser had two hits and Jadyn Hutchins smacked a two-run homer and had a sacrifice fly for a three RBI game. Kinley German and Savanna Kendrick both added a hit and a run batted in.

Rehobeth 14, McNairy Central 0: Rehobeth scored eight runs in the third inning to build off a 6-0 lead in the rout. Carroll 4, Kaneland 4 : Carroll led 4-0 after two innings but Kaneland scored two each in the third and fourth innings to force the tie. Dale County 2, West Ridge 1: Ainyah Stokes had an RBI sacrifice fly and Leah Grace Snellgrove had a solo homer in a two-run first inning and pitcher Shayleigh Whitman made it hold up.

Joseph, the game’s winning pitcher, struck out eight over five innings and allowed only one hit. Haynes worked the final two innings, giving up a run on four hits. Zion Chapel 7, Slocomb 3: Amber Kidd belted a two-run homer and a two-run single to lead Zion Chapel.Sydney Boothe went six innings and struck out four for Zion Chapel.Zion Chapel 10, Charles Henderson 0: Two pitchers combined on a five-inning, one-hit shutout and Zion Chapel won for the 20th time in 22 games.

Compton was 3-for-3 with a double for Charles Henderson. West also drove in a run on a ground out. Jada Jones also had an RBI ground out.
