The 5-acre Watsonville fire, named the Freedom Fire, is on Freedom Road, north of Watsonville. It was 0% contained. The Boulder Creek fire was dubbed the Panther Ridge Fire, and it has burned 7 to 8 acres and 0% contained, according to Cal Fire CZU.Other fires burning in the area included the 6-acre Empire Fire in Boulder Creek, the 14-acre Fanning Fire near Ben Lomond, and the 10-acre North Butano Fire in San Mateo County. No structures were threatened by the blazes, Cal Fire CZU reported.
