affecting 4,848 customers, as of 1:32 a.m. Monday. On Sunday night, while a Seabeck family was capturing video of some serious snow falling, their lights suddenly went out.

Thousands without power as heavy winds pummel Southcentral AlaskaUpdated: Strong winds hammered Southcentral Alaska on Sunday, leaving thousands without power, overturning planes at the Palmer airport and causing near-whiteout conditions along highways. A semi-trailer flipped near the Parks-Glenn interchange. Mother Nature having a normal one 😕 Nearly 19,000 customers in Mat-Su were without power around 7 p.m., the Matanuska Electric Association reported. 'Reports of impassable roads blocked by trees, downed power lines, shattered windows in homes and vehicles have been received,” the borough posted on social media.
