, filed on Wednesday and shared first with NBC News, accuses U.S. Postal Service and U.S. Postal Inspection Service officials of violating constitutional rights under the Fourth Amendment by improperly seizing the boxes without probable cause, a warrant, or even reasonable suspicion. The lawsuit also raises the possibility that officials violated the First Amendment by seizing the masks because of their political messaging.
Quiñonez, his family, and at least a dozen employees and volunteers"worked around the clock" to produce and pack the masks in the first week of June 2020, according to the lawsuit filed on his behalf by the Institute for Justice, a libertarian-leaning nonprofit law firm.
The seizure of the masks “created a pall of suspicion, distraction, uncertainty, and confusion around René and Movement Ink,” the lawsuit states. The “baseless seizures and searches,” the lawsuit states, caused significant emotional and mental distress “not just because of his and Movement Ink’s financial and reputational hits, but because he and Movement Ink have been effectively shut out of a movement and a community that they spent years investing their time and energy in.
Why is Louis De-Joy still Postmaster General?
44 But I say, love your enemies![r] Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. Matthew 5
I don't know too many folks that have sued the Federal government and won, good luck
And DeJoy is still Post Master General. The guy Trump appointed who started dismantling post office department mail sorting machines prior to deadlines for 2020 mail in votes. Throw the bum out.
Maybe this can get rid of Dejoy!
Oh the Irony. BLM claims USPS violated their constitutional rights. BLM suddenly cares about law enforcement?
That's fucking funny!!
Why is DeJoy not fired and indicted?
Imagine the amount of BLM and woke merch that is shipped around the country every day (it’s an industry in itself). There’s no way the post office is just seizing shit based on political messaging. They stated in the article that the packaging was similar to drug packaging
Unless they were N95, they weren’t protecting anyone from anything. 😂😂
As they should. Freedom of speech remember?
I work for the post office and never seen this mask in my life
CDC says don't wear cloth masks so I guess this was a public service
That’s funny because the postmaster general is in this room and he hasn’t been served with any paperwork so that’s a lie
How much divide can you cause in one tweet. My god the media is pathetic
Every life matter ☮️
Why is Louis DeJoy still the Postmaster of the USPS?
Sued, really? This is a Federal Offense.
Just add that to the list of crimes by DeJoy
I hope they burned them
1) Not all BLM is bad, but as fractal criminal groups who’s“protests” cause billions in damages to public places… that warrants inspection of supplies! 2) The leaders personally horde funds for their families, and not for the people they claim to represent! RICO act
