HDTV’s Kim Wolfe sells historic $1.2 million Olmos Park home

Kim and Bryan renovated the 2,737-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-bathroom house in hopes of making it their dream home. However, that dream never came to fruition because renovations took longer than expected.“It was sad, and it was hard for us,” said Kim, a San Antonio interior designer and 2012 “Survivor” winner. “We’re on the hunt for the next one. We’re excited to find one that maybe we’ll be in for more than a year or two that really could finally be a home for us.

Originally built in 1937, the two-story home at 434 Thelma Dr in Olmos Park was updated by HGTV’s Kim and Bryan Wolfe, designed as their personal residence. The decision to purchase the four-bedroom, four-bathroom home on Thelma Drive came during an especially busy time for the Wolfe family . In the middle of filming the show's first season, the Wolfe family sold their San Antonio home and moved into a rental, Kim said. Bryan found the house while Kim was filming for HGTV.

"Why the Heck Did I Buy This House" is filming its second season in San Antonio. The home renovation show highlights Kim and her team as they guide homeowners through their buyer's remorse and help transform their space into something they're proud of. The show's first season premiered in March with seven home overhauls in the Alamo City. For the second season, the couple renovated an old body shop at the roundabout on McCullough Avenue in Olmos Park.

“So far it’s going really, really good,” Kim said. “I just have an unbelievable team. We’ve got just really, really great builders. We’re using six different builders this season and so everybody kind of has their own house to work on.” Originally built in 1937, the two-story home at 434 Thelma Dr in Olmos Park was updated by HGTV’s Kim and Bryan Wolfe, designed as their personal residence.
