Francis “wants to send a very clear message to these conservative Catholics here who are pro-Trumpers that, ‘Listen, this is just as much of an issue as abortion is.’”

The Associated Press

Francis “wants to send a very clear message to these conservative Catholics here who are pro-Trumpers that, ‘Listen, this is just as much of an issue as abortion is,’” said Anthea Butler, a presidential visiting fellow at Yale Divinity School. He also said, “We cannot close our eyes to any form of racism or exclusion, while pretending to defend the sacredness of every human life.”

Francis spoke out June 3 after Trump posed in front of an Episcopal church near the White House, Bible in hand, after law enforcement aggressively forced protesters away from a nearby park. Sunday’s L’Osservatore Romano newspaper featured three Floyd-related stories on its front page. The first was that 1 million people were expected to protest that day in Washington.

Why is the Pope blaming Conservatives for Democrat anarchy...no wonder so many are leaving the church.

Chalk it up to ABC and other douche networks to find the one idiot that calls only a hand full of unarmed men killed by police just as bad as abortion that has killed millions of black babies....i thought I've seen it all

don-the-con trump IS NOT a: lawyer, Catholic, Jew, Muslim, teacher, brave, compassionate, minister, doctor, ex-military, historian, scientist, literate, benefactor, honest, tax payer, trustworthy, farmer, loyal husband, decisive, law & order president, psychologist, nor physic.

Much more of an issue actually.

The political pope has spoken, no one cares

Wish the church came out this strong telling their priest it is wrong to play with little boys. Wishful thinking I guess

This is a greater issue!!! Women need the right to their bodies!!

This report by ABC is disingenuous and misleading. At no point during his message did the Pope call out “pro-Trumpers.” This is an editorial edition made by Anthea Butler and not by the Holy See. The Pope is speaking to all Catholics and not just to Trump supporters.

America has fallen :(

Risky that right wing cops and ex-cops mobilize themselves like Confederate Army.

How A U.S. Police Killing Triggered The Toppling Of Statues In U.K. And BelgiumActivists in Bristol, U.K., had spent years trying to remove the statue of slave trader Edward Colston, to no avail. In the end, the statue's fate was not resolved by lawmakers in Bristol, but by a killing on a sidewalk in Minneapolis. Next up: book burning. I hear that Ancient Rome and Egypt had slaves. Are you going to tear those down too? For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. The standing grain has no heads, it shall yield no meal; if it were to yield, foreigners would devour it. —Hosea 8:7 The rich world is being called to account for a half-millineum of colonialism.
