Trump and Democrats decided on the price of the infrastructure package: $2 trillion—which is massive. The sticking point: Schumer said Trump needs to find a way to pay for it. More in Playbook PM:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the infrastructure meeting with President Donald Trump on Tuesday "a productive meeting.” | Evan Vucci/AP Photo“a productive meeting.” She said Democrats are “very excited” about the conversation, and said the two sides decided that the package would be “big and bold.”. That’s massive.Schumer said Trump needs to find a way to pay for this package. The two sides will meet in three weeks, and they expectto present ways to pay for the $2 trillion bill.

by Bloomberg’s Eric Martin: “Mexican lawmakers raced to pass the bill before the end of their session Tuesday to allow their counterparts in the U.S. to take up discussion of the trade deal, known as the U.S.-Mexico-Canada agreement, before their August recess.”House Minority Whip Steve Scalise at dinner at Joe’s with members of the USMCA whip team and Larry Kudlow. Let Mexico pay for it!(just kiddin). The tax cut mortgaged our future, maybe China can help us...or maybe Russian oligarchs. Clearly we can't pay for it, since the wealthy no longer pay a fair share of taxes.

I expect Trump calling Putin real soon.

Take back that millionaire tax cuts.

Thought the House controlled the funding of programs?

Schumer & his buddies voted for the border walls before. Why can’t they stop practicing bigotry!

We can sell trump tower and mar a logo for the deposit

Cutting ALL Foreign Aid is a great start!

Last I heard Congress hold the purse strings.

The Corps. and Monopolies that MAKE PROFIT off of out infrastructure MUST accept a large part of the COST... THEY have frozen wages and gotten LARGE tax breaks while raising prices and reducing the size of packages... WIDE BAND internet has to be free from those monopolizing

Lol. That's laughable. When have Dems ever worried about paying for anything? Just look at the wish lists of all their crazy candidates.

GOP: That's simple. Pass a bulk of the expenses on to the middle class and poor, but cut taxes for those job creating wealthy people! 🙄

I thought Congress controlled the purse? Am I wrong.

How about we stop spending tax paying dollars on farce investigations.

By drastically reducing every politician yearly outrageous salary, whether Democrat, Republican or other for accomplishing nothing other than bickering over stupidity, payment for massive infrastructure is very easily solved.

Meanwhile, Mick Mulvaney threw cold water on the infrastructure negotiations as Dems were literally in the White House. He also said the nation’s $22 trillion in debt is not holding the U.S. back. Quite a morning for the acting COS.
