A 27-year-old man was shot in the leg early Sunday morning by an unknown assailant on the Southeast Side, police said.
Officers were sent to the scene in response to a report of a"shooting in progress." On arrival, they found the victim sitting in his car at the intersection of Amanda Street and Roland Avenue, with wounds to his leg, police said. The victim told police he was using an outdoor ice machine around 2 a.m. Sunday when a white sedan pulled up and someone inside began to shoot at him. The victim, who was not identified, was unable to provide any more information, police said.
