'A traumatizing and horrific event for me has become [entertainment] for other people, and that’s difficult.' –zayer_dounya

. In the tweet she mentions she got consent from you to post the video to social media, which doesn’t always happen with violent footage like this. What did that mean for you that she asked your permission?I appreciate Whitney so much, not just because she accompanied me to the hospital, not just because she waited for me until I got out and got me a phone charger and kept in contact with me much later.

I never had heroes as a kid. I never understood why I would have to look up to somebody. But now as a 21-year-old, I have many, many heroes, and they are the protesters who are still protesting and putting themselves at risk for the movement.I would tell them to prepare for war. Honestly. I would tell them to prepare to be pepper-sprayed, beaten with batons, and to armor up. To bring things that will make those injuries hurt less. To bring shields, to protect themselves, and stick together.

I love waking up and making myself breakfast, cleaning my house, and then getting it ready for the kids to show up. And the kids get here and I make them breakfast and I put them to sleep and I change their diapers. I spend time with them and I paint with them. I’m in my own little world when the babies are with me. I don’t have to think about how shitty and cruel the outside world is. That really makes me happy. It’s been what’s making my life worth living recently.

I was gassed for the egregious crime of standing near a medic tent during a protest. So were kids, journalists, and literally everyone else. I can't ever imagine trusting a cop again, although I have and will again protest.

Oh shut up..

Good!
