Pokémon’s Brock & Misty Officially Return to the English Anime

The Pokémon anime's first San Diego Comic Con panel has revealed that the series' original trio of Ash, Brock, and Misty will be reunited for Ash's final block of episodes, due for release on September 8, 2023. The Pokémon companions haven't been seen for hundreds of episodes, and their return brings Ash's adventures full circle as he attempts to return to journeying after his dramatic tournament win.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Pokémon Ultimate Journeys anime is drawing to a close, but there's one more block of 13 episodes that have yet to be released globally. These episodes will focus on Ash, Brock, and Misty once again, as they resume traveling together for the first time in a whopping 950 episodes.

Brock and Misty Bring Ash's Journey Back to Where It All Began Brock and Misty were Ash's original companions, with the trio traveling together from the very beginning of the anime until the end of the Johto era, 273 episodes into the series. Brock would remain in the show even longer, leaving after 657 episodes. As one can imagine, fans became quite attached to these characters over all that time, and they certainly hold a special place in their hearts due to nostalgia.

This last batch of episodes constituted a miniseries known as "Aim to Be a Pokémon Master" in the Japanese release. These episodes follow Ash with rotating crews of his old Pokémon as he ventures across the world, trying to figure exactly what it means to be a Pokémon Master and whether becoming champion has helped him to achieve that goal. He catches up with old friends such as Brock and Misty , meets new Pokémon, and even grows close to a Legendary Pokémon.

Fans who are eagerly awaiting Brock and Misty's return can get ready for the final Pokémon Ultimate Journey episodes to drop on Netflix in the US and elsewhere on September 8, 2023.
