The video he produced demonstrated that when the $80,000+ electric vehicle is plugged in to a regular house outlet, it will take over four days to fully charge. A special 240-volt charger still takes a full day to charge the vehicle.at $86,645 — plugged in his EV at home and found out that it would take, at best, one day to charge — as long as he has special charging equipment installed.
“Right now it’s about 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and it says it will be full by Saturday at 10:55 [p.m.], which is four-plus days of charging. Wow,” the man said. But the man added that it will take roughly 24 hours to complete a charge with the Level Two charger — an upgraded home station that requires special equipment and installation.
“I have a Juice Box, Level Two charger, 240 volts at my garage,” he said. “Plug in Level Two charger, now it says it will be done tomorrow by 6:30 [p.m.], so about 24 hours of charging from four percent to 100 percent. The average price of a Level Two charger is around $500, which doesn’t include the cost to install it, according toAnother YouTuber — with 1.4 million followers — recently conducted a similar experiment with his brand new 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup.
“If a truck towing 3,500 pounds can’t even go 100 miles — that is ridiculously stupid,” Tyler “Hoovie” Hoover says in his video. “This truck can’t do normal truck things. You would be stopping every hour to recharge, which would take about 45 minutes a pop, and that is absolutely not practical.”
wxbywilliams Fad toy cars.
Run out of gas ⛽️
You should come over to Europe once and take a look in the cities: all kind of EVs with satisfied users. A nice grid of charging stations including some single car chargers in every block of every city. Those who have solar at home profit the most. Mileage cost way down.
This why GM went bankrupt around 2009 housing crisis. Making stupidly like this.
Breitbart is owned by rich anti American elites and hedge fund billionaires the Mercer family
Hope no one got stuck try to get away from the hurricane
I love how people dismiss this story just for political reasons, it is just simple science.
Tweet paid for and approved by the fossil fuel industry.
EVs are a scam as are roof solar panels.
🤡 🌍
Hahahaha
Not surprised.
This is not news. All electric cars can be plugged into a regular outlet, but it won’t charge very fast. Every brochure and spec says that. You would think the guy who spent 80k would have put a charging station in his garage to fast charge, but not this guy
Breitbart -- the Daily Mail of National Enquirers.
LMAO.
Well you can't even plug them in in California🤣
DamianRanger1 Sounds awesome.🥴😳😂
PennyFralix Charging times are never discussed when purchasing cause what dealer wants to disclose it takes 4 days to charge on 120?
What’s the big deal? 4 days aren’t 4 months, are they? It’s strange that you people can’t figure out how to solve a problem. Buy 4 and you’ll never have to wait at all…………assuming your electricity is always humming. See? That’s why the masses call me a genius.
Scheherazade707 U can use the car 3 days per week! Bwhahahaha! 🤣😂😆🤣😂😆 ElectricHummer
Carbon represents .04% of the atmosphere and only 4% of the .04% is man made. The biggest producer of carbon is the oceans. Maybe we should drain the oceans? There may be climate change but it’s not caused by carbon. How many “end of the world” dates have come and gone?
Teslas can take nearly 2 days. That's why 110v is very impractical for full EVs
I guarantee everyone from Engineering has a degree from some marquee name school (MIT) etc or was lured away from Tesla. Image a superstorm Sandy or Ian and u need to leave asap. Newsom u listening?
How is this news? Every fully electric vehicle takes days to charge at 110V.
The GOP seems to have a need to trash American technology.
It would also take 4 days to dry your clothes with a dryer plugged into a standard home electrical outlet. That’s why the dryer has a higher capacity plug. Same reason an EV needs one. The owner was terribly uninformed if he didn’t know this.
How long will the 18 wheelers charge and how far do they go?
😂😂
Saw this coming. After decades of being forced to downsize and hurt profits - the EV movement has given them permission to make bigger cars again for bigger $$$. Meanwhile, most electricity in America is coal based so no real benefit to the environment - you may be doing worse.
All the more reason to wait for hydrogen/electric vehicles to evolve.
😂🤣😂😂
Fully dependent on the rate of wall charger you use. This is fake news
I fail to see the big deal here. What really matters here is folks buying these vehicles to reduce their carbon footprint.
How much does that add to your electric bill? No one is telling. Electronic is not cheap
That'll be a fun electric bill.
It's not a truck. It's a truck shaped vehicle that can't do what a truck needs to do.
SSG_Davis_Ret This is just dumb shit posting. No one with an EV charges on a 110v outlet. The buyer of an $86k+ truck has the $1.5k to have a proper 240v installed. EVs are still way cheaper to recharge than a gas car to refill. Have fun with your $6/gal gas
But yet it's the way of the Left... buy EVs, take hours if not days to charge, and who cares about the pollution as a result of the electricity needed to be produced to charge said vehicles (you can't talk about that.. NO NO NO)
Electric vehicles…4 days to charge ….ROFL. BIDEN’s America !!! 🤔
I believe that's a result of using CA power grid when calculating charge time. 🤣
