In those 10 years, they have gone through seven coaches, a six-year playoff drought, three regime changes, and endured both the retirement and tragic death of the great Kobe Bryant. The NBA Playoffs Are Really a Space RaceBasketball has always rewarded the players who are the biggest and can jump the highest. But there is only so much vertical room for them to navigate. Never has the NBA been so horizontal. Honestly, when I see these athletes now, I'm disgusted. I played for a lot of years; won two state championships; did color commentary on radio later in life.
