BREAKING: Planned Parenthood of Arizona has asked a Pima County court to put on hold last week's ruling that effectively outlawed almost all abortions in Arizona.

Planned Parenthood of Arizona on Monday asked a Pima County court to put on hold last week's ruling that effectively outlawed almost all abortions in Arizona.

The organization noted widespread confusion over the the many Arizona abortion laws enacted in the past 50 years since the U.S. Supreme Court issued the Roe v. Wade decision, which legalized abortion up until a fetus could survive outside of the womb. In its emergency request, Planned Parenthood said it would not harm Arizonans to put Friday's decision on hold while waiting to sort out which law governs, as it serves the public interest to provide clarity.

They asked for an emergency stay on Judge Kellie Johnson's Friday ruling until they can file a formal appeal.
