The CEO of the fuel pipeline hit by ransomware will tell senators that authorizing a multi-million-dollar payment to hackers was “one of the toughest decisions” but the right thing to do. The U.S. said Monday it recovered most of the $4.4 million payment.

_Politics Can you please include in any reporting on the Pipeline scam how it was the billing software & not the pipeline itself that was targeted? The gas shortage & subsequent higher prices that we are STILL paying was caused because the COMPANY shut the pipeline down, not the hackers.

I read last night that about 2M of the money was recovered. While it is a lot, and a good thing, i would not call that 'most of' the money. At best, it is half.

Apparently bitcoin wallets have been compromised... ...likely when the DarkSide servers were seized (by Russian FSB? or?) This is the weak link in using Exchanges who keep your key. Even if its just for their 'transfer wallet'.

No... it didn't recover Most of the Money, it was half... On his decision, if he did his damn job, he wouldn't have had to make the decision at all... This CEO as many in America, can blow off their own responsibility in their failed leadership way top much.
