Philadelphia gang members charged in murder-for-hire plot, shootings that killed 4, injured 8

"BNG is history," DA Larry Krasner said Monday in a press conference condeming the gang's role in several fatal and non-fatal shootings carried out over several months beginning in 2021."Big Naddy Gang" or "BNG" was formed after 15-year-old Nahmeer Johnson was killed in April 2021. Officials say the gang has used the teen's death as justification for their violent acts.

A deep dive grand jury investigation led to new and additional charges in connection to a spree of gun violence that left four people dead and eight others injured:One of those shootings included a murder-for-hire that went wrong when officials say BNG members followed the wrong people and opened fire on three innocent women inside a vehicle, killing one of them.Another tragedy unfolded when gang members fired shots at a candlelight vigil for a young homicide victim, according to authorities.
