Pete Davidson voices a talking Great Dane in the new trailer for Netflix's Marmaduke. Directed by Mark A.Z. Dippé, Matt Philip Whelan and Youngki Lee, the new film brings to life the titular canine character created by Bradley Jay Anderson in 88-minutes of animation. From a script by Bryon Kavanaugh, Marmaduke's story follows the efforts of a legendary dog trainer, determined to make Marmaduke the first Great Dane to win the Westminster Championship.
In the new Marmaduke trailer released by Netflix After School, viewers are officially introduced to the naughty but lovable dog voiced by Davidson. Branded “a handful” from the offset, Marmaduke unexpectedly draws the attention of a world-renowned dog trainer after a video of him accidentally ruining a barbecue goes viral.
Joining Davidson in the voice cast of Marmaduke are J.K. Simmons, Jason Anthony, David Koechner, Shelby Young and Stephen Stanton. Best known as a regular cast member in SNL, Davidson has previously provided voice-over work in 2019’s Angry Birds Movie 2 and the adult animated series, The Freak Brothers. More recently, Davidson has enjoyed live-action roles in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, and a cameo appearance in the romantic comedy, I Want You Back.
