Prepare yourself for 2 years of Post articles directly or indirectly arguing that the most popular politician, Bernie Sanders, can't or shouldn't win & why we should just accept that we are doomed to be ruled by neoliberal corporate centrists until rising oceans end our misery.

This naked ageism makes no more sense than insisting that they shouldn't nominate a black woman or a white man. They should nominate the person they are most confident will actually implement, and not just pay lip service to, a progressive agenda. Right now that is Bernie.

The most progressive candidate and the most popular with young voters happens to be over 70. Bernie is trusted in large part because, unlike younger corporate tools presently repackaging themselves as progressives, his record shows decades of commitment to Medicare for All.

Age has nothing to do with it. Competency does. Joe Biden knows Washington inside and out AND is a good guy. Not corrupt in any way. Knows Congress. Can work with people to get some compromise. JoeBiden

If, and that's a BIG 'if,' they can find a candidate in his/her early 50's that has both the policy chops and campaign charisma, the Democrats should get behind that person early and loudly. It's unlikely that they'll find another Obama, but they should try to come close.
