Escambia County Emergency Management is urging people to take it easy to avoid heat related illnesses

) -The summertime temperatures are in full swing across the gulf coast but those in Pensacola are no strangers to the heat.“We’ve got to respect the heat,” said Prenecker Jackson. “If I could say anything it’s you have to respect the heat.”

“At this particular time, we have a high wind and a few clouds in the sky so I’m just trying to stay cool,” said Jackson. “I come down almost every day to relive all of the pressure that is on me and to receive what God has given us which right now is about to give us some rain to quench all this heat and bring it down so we can deal with it,” said Wayne Burgess Sr.
