People are really concerned about the wife in Peloton's new holiday ad.

Published 2:35 PM EST Dec 4, 2019Twitter is awash with commentary about how the indoor bike startup's 30-second clip missed the mark, with some people calling it offensive.

Several people on Twitter said buying a bike for your lover is one of the fastest ways to end a relationship. "Isn't the real crime of the #peloton fantasy ad that her body is unchanged in a year?" tweets @Keenan Peachy. "Started thin and rich, ended thin and rich. Such change! Many improved!" writes @Lilyfaire.

A Peloton spokesperson said in a statement that the company is"disappointed in how some have misinterpreted this commercial." However, it is"encouraged by and grateful for the outpouring of support ... from those who understand what we were trying to communicate."

is 000 la montraise dead?

Not as good as the gifts I have gotten for my wife this year though... a new stove a new ironing board ... a new vacuum .... and oh yeh a new Dish washer after all I don’t want her getting dishpan hands ya know .... I’m a giver 😳😳

'People are really concerned' about the portrayal of a daughter so excited to show her mom what she & Dad got her for xmas..So mom is too thin?Too pretty?Too Rich? This is a message from Dad that 'you're not good enough'? So many people are F'd Up & most are hypocrites! idiots!!!

A lot of this 'concern' comes from a deeply ignorant perspective. Exercise isn't just for people trying to lose weight. Exercise is actually beneficial in many other ways besides weight loss. It should be an obvious fact, but clearly everybody doesn't know that 😟

Hopefully she won’t get a new mattress as a gift, just imagine the implications that gesture will carry. Imagine if he got her a gift card? Oh the humanity.

She’s acting

With all that's going on in the country and the world, I don't think people are 'really concerned' about Peloton's ad. Give me a break.

Why? For the love of god, this is stupid.

People are the worst

Do they want people to exercise or not?... They need to make up their minds.

Reality: It is estimated that approximately 50 tons of clothing hang on Peloton exercise machines across America.

Buy your wife exercise equipment with out her asking and see how long you sleep on the couch.

No they weren't. They just thought it was an overacted commercial with terrible writing. Nothing more.

New holiday commercial from cycling brand Peloton draws social media backlashThe ad is called “The Gift That Gives Back,” but on social media it’s being ridiculed as “cringeworthy,” “sexist,” and “tone deaf.” I don't get the outrage; If she'd bought him a weight set, no one would be upset. Peletron marketing is for no one making less that 175k a year. Guess what, you don’t need one to feel like you have a purpose on this planet. Dumb. I wish someone would gift me a high dollar piece of exercise equipment. Shit. There's much more important things to be outraged over. Ffs.
