Peacemaker Director Suggests Eating Flamin’ Hot Cheetos While Watching Show

Peacemaker's writer/director James Gunn suggests Flamin' Hot Cheetos as the snack to eat while watching his DC show when it debuts this week. Following his work on Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy, Gunn has become the go-to mastermind for dishing out oddball comic book content.

When audiences last saw Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad, he was seemingly shot dead by Bloodsport before being squashed by the collapsing Jotunheim reactor. The film's credits scene revealed Peacemaker did indeed survive the events on Corto Maltese and is needed to help"save the f—king world.

Peacemaker is written and mostly directed by Gunn, who recognized his titular character's potential from the jump. As an oxymoronic character, Peacemaker cherishes peace with all his heart and doesn't care how many men, women, and children he has to kill to get it. Suffice to say, the series' will be chaotic and riddled with off-the-wall comedy touches.

Hopefully, Peacemaker is like a bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos—a fiery addition to an already successful formula. The Suicide Squad didn't do well at the box office, but the film was a hit with fans and critics. It managed to make audiences laugh while developing the humanity of each character. Peacemaker aims to flesh out its anti-hero even further when it premieres on January 13, 2022. .
