Over the past few years, Brazilian designer Patricia Bonaldi has gained a following for her beach-ready fashions with exceptional hand-crafted details, at an attainable, contemporary price point. The past year, the designer introduced her first bridal collection and was looking to bring forth even more optimism through a mix of swim and ready-to-wear fashions for the resort.
The look: Bonaldi’s signature optimistic, bohemian elan infused with playful moments of ’80s optimism through print and neon colors. Quote of note: “I’m a very optimistic person, and I try to translate this into my collections. Especially now, I think we need a lot of joy and optimism. I thought I could bring this energy through my collection and I think I did it with the bright colors — neons — and energy translated from the ’80s.
The takeaway: Bonaldi’s details — hand-embroideries, hand-drawn prints, etc. — hit the mark once again. Additionally, the collection felt most at-home and aspirational set within a tropical landscape, as seen through her look book video, set at Antigua’s Hodges Bay Resort.
