Parents with kids stuck at home will tell you how stressed they are, but now the CDC has proof virtual schooling is taking a real physical and emotional toll.

Parents and their children enrolled in virtual school during the Covid pandemic are more likely to report signs of negative physical, mental and emotional health, a new CDC study found.

The study comes as President Joe Biden has made safely reopening schools for in-person learning a top priority.Suzanne Kreiter | Boston Globe | Getty Imageswill tell you how stressed they are, but now the CDC has proof that virtual schooling is taking a real physical and emotional toll — driving some parents to drugs and alcohol to help cope., published Thursday by the U.S.

The CDC surveyed 1,290 parents or legal guardians of school-age children who were up to 12 years old between October and November. Among participants, 45.7% said their kids received virtual instruction, 30.9% in-person and 23.4% of kids were in a hybrid teaching program. More than half, 54%, of parents with kids stuck in virtual school said they suffered from increased emotional distress, 16.4% said they were increasingly using drugs or alcohol and 21.6% said they had trouble sleeping at night. Those issues were less prevalent among parents with kids attending school in person. Just 38.4% of those parents said they were more stressed, 13.7% said they were using drugs or alcohol to cope and 12.9% said they had trouble sleeping at night.

🤷🏻‍♂️No, ya don’t say.

If only teachers unions cared about such things.

We’re in the middle of a deadly pandemic. It’s pretty stressful.

Exact same finding if teachers would have been surveyed.

(1/2) The pandemic has highlighted the parts of society that don't work. One is the self-centredness of part of it. Every other week, a new study about a new subgroup says that group suffered in that way. We all suffered and need to start looking at it that way. (cont'd....)

But they’re all alive to report this.

Include me. 🥸 But will get better

And the parents

They should create gifs

Who would have thought.

They probably used drugs and alcohol before the pandemic.

Is this Comic book reporting?

Reality check...they’ve been using alchohol and drugs they didnt just start...like duhhhhh

rnage bound for theta burn

so obvious spy will be right back to 391 even if it drops to 390

My kids aren't even fazed by it all and have chosen to remain home the rest of the year. I suspect those kids were already into those things and perhaps it's accelerated or just been detected

Not really... they'd been using drugs and alcohol even before the pandemic happened... just FYI

4 hours of no movement is spy, fucking do something break up we konw 393 is coming today

So the CDC encourages parents to home school their kids virtually because of the virus and after that they do a study to see how they cope? This fuckers are controlling everything

Not surprising
