The parents of a 20-year-old Bowling Green State University student who died from alcohol poisoning while pledging a fraternity say they are on a mission to end hazing in colleges across the country.

, who died in 2021, were awarded nearly $3 million from Bowling Green State University on Monday.

After their son's death, the couple launched the iamstonefoltz Foundation, which is"dedicated to keeping the memory of Stone Foltz alive and to bring acts of kindness to others," according to the foundation's website. "As his dad it makes me proud to hear how many lives that he was able to save and help," he said."Stone is my hero."

Due to the forced binge drinking, Stone Foltz spent almost three days in a coma and died on March 7, 2021, from alcohol poisoning, the lawsuit alleged., saying it will never again be recognized by the university due to hazing, which the university said in a statement"is absolutely intolerable."

I'm a member of Pi Kappa Alpha (from another college) We hazed. That was obviously taken too far with the drinking. But how is that the College's fault? The fraternity is at fault, not the college. And you will never end hazing. It's part of Fraternity life.

What are the schools doing?

You can’t change a culture where it’s everywhere and you get to drink at home in front of your parents (it’s a white culture)

BAN. BAN. BAN. BAN. BAN. That's all America wants to do these days.

Good! I hope they can accomplish this. Hazing is just another form of bullying.

My heart goes out to these parents, but the issue isn’t hazing, it’s camaraderie, male camaraderie here, at any cost with no limits, boundaries or self preservation.

End it completely!

This has happened so many times & yet nothing changes.

No need for fraternities in 2023. Or sororities.

They're trying to close the barn doors after the horses have bolted. They should MYOB. Their son made his choices. If they should be there for anyone, they should have been there for him. They need to leave everyone else alone and stop trying to push their BS on other ppl.

Cancel fraternities. This is where all the hazing and other issues seem to grow out of control.

Purpose of fraternity Friendship? So distorted as a concept, now means a rich kids drinking network. Cancel fraternity’s

No one chooses to be hazed, it’s a hurdle put in their way, bolstered by peer pressure and legacy. People who promote that behavior are rarely held accountable. Criminal charges should be filed against the frat’s local & national leadership. Civil charges against the University

Personal suggestion is across the whole world.

Totally agree. Sorry for this unnecessary loss. May he RIP

Natural Selection

What if the kids don't want you to. What if they want that right of passage. Who are they to decide these things for them? Just a question.

Alcohol at Hazing across the country should have been stopped after the first death.

Destroy evil CCP bandits because they freed CCP virus from Wu Han army biological virus laboratory to over the worldwide in 2019. 2019年中共病毒从武汉共匪軍方生物病毒实验室释放到全世界,消灭中共邪党。

Best of luck with that.....

People die , seriously injured and life altering injuries all due to consumption of alcohol while government profits of its sales!

Why hazing in general instead of just the booze part?

Totally needed to be stopped.

I’m heart broken for this family. Nurturing him from birth to this good looking young man and he will never see another sunrise. All of it swept away in a hazing ritual. Devastating to his friends who now have to live with the guilt.

Vaccines are killing more college kids than alcohol. Now that’s a story to report.

Same logic as gun grabbers…punish the 99.99 who do nothing wrong

They been 'ending hazing' for decades... not gonna happen. I feel sorry for their loss, but it comes down to raising a child with common sense and self control.

Greek life is incredibly toxic.
