A cheering crowd greeted director Bong Joon-ho as he arrived home in South Korea, his first trip back since he won four Oscars for his movie “Parasite,” including the award for Best Picture.

South Korean director Bong Joon-ho, center, arrives at the Incheon International Airport in Incheon, South Korea, Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020. South Koreans are reveling in writer-director Bong's dark comic thriller, "Parasite," which won this year's Academy Awards for best film and best international feature. The movie itself, however, doesn't put the country in a particularly positive light.

The crowd clapped and cheered as Bong walked out of the arrivals gate at Incheon International Airport.

Hi. I see you wrote 'South Korea' but did you know that Koreans don't really like it when you specify 'South' when it's not totally necessary to what you're saying? It's a painful and unwelcome reminder of our divided country. Please consider this in the future. 감사합니다!

He deserves his success.
