Tuesday's walk-off win allowed Padres to stay ahead of Brewers in wild-card race

The day will certainly help Jorge Alfaro, who exited Monday’s game with right knee inflammation. He gave way to Austin Nola on Tuesday as he’s done all year for Joe Musgrove starts, but Alfaro is again out of the lineup for the day-after-night game.Nola will bat ninth in a lineup that is identical to Tuesday’s.

Trent Grisham is in the lineup a second straight day in center field as the Giants are throwing a right-hander. Wil Myers had started the Saturday-Monday games in center against left-handed pitching. Tuesday’s walk-off win allowed the Padres to stay one game ahead of the Brewers in the race for the NL’s No. 6 seed. The other teams ahead of the Padres in the wild-card races — the Braves and Phillies — also won Tuesday:
