Pa teen charged in homicide after showing bloody body to friend on Instagram: police

Police say they found a dead body in the trailer home where Joshua Cooper, 16, lived on Friday Nov. 25, 2022.Police arrested a 16-year-old boy Friday after they say he called a friend on an Instagram video chat, said he killed someone and showed the feet and legs of a dead body.

The friend’s mother called 911 at 4:11 p.m. Friday after her daughter received the call, which showed part of a body covered in blood when the caller flipped the video image. Joshua Cooper had called her daughter asking for help in disposing the body, according to police. Bensalem police in Bucks County went to Joshua’s home in a trailer park in the 1400 block of Gibson Road and officers saw a teen boy run out of the back of the mobile home. Officers went into the home and found a dead juvenile female on the floor of the bathroom who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound.“Other responding officers conducted a search for the juvenile and a short time later, he was stopped in the area of Newport Mews Drive and Groton Drive, taken into custody.

Police charged Joshua Cooper as an adult with the following crimes: criminal homicide, possessing instruments of crime and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. He was denied bond and sent to the Edison Juvenile Detention Center. juveniles are automatically charged as adults for homicide and other serious violent crimes.
