by Tyler JeskiDAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. —Pennsylvania State Police said the death of a woman who went missing in 2007 is still undetermined and troopers are still investigating.
The announcement comes one day after authorities identified the skull of Heike Leich was found by hunters in 2020. The rest of her body has not been located. Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo said officials had been DNA testing the skull for years, it was announced the skull was hers on Monday. Officials said the skull was found not far from the location where Leich was first reported missing.Leich was reported missing by her common-law spouse on August 8, 2007.
She was last seen in her driveway on Fishing Creek Valley Road. Police said Leich left behind her ID, purse, and medication for a mental health disorder.Troopers said anyone with information should call Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers at 1-800-4PA-TIPS.
