The University of Arizona's vet school tells us classes are canceled for the rest of today. They said classes will start back up tomorrow, but students will have the option of having an excused absence which will not count against them.
The Oro Valley Police Department tells KGUN9 the threat was not directly made towards the school. The threat came in the form of a phone call from someone at the vet school who possibly had mental health issues. They responded to the scene and now have the suspect in custody. They cleared the area around 4:30 P.M.A building was evacuated at the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine location in Oro Valley, Wednesday afternoon around 1 P.M..
Oro Valley Police Department posted on its Facebook page that it had responded to an unknown threat at the college, at 1580 E. Hanley Boulevard.The building was evacuated and searched out of an abundance of caution, the post said.The investigation is ongoing.
