Panic still ensues over the uncertain future of AP and Cambridge AICE final exams, necessary for college credit. Many welcome ceremonies and orientations for college freshmen have been canceled. I may have to attend my first semester of college online. For the Class of 2020, it feels as though the culmination of years of hard work we’ve dedicated to schooling has been stolen from us.
I have lupus, so my immune system is heavily compromised. I wasn't as worried about the virus before, but now I'm worried that I'll get it. I've just been extra cautious with everything I do, and I don't think I'm going to leave the house, just in case. … Everyone in my family has preexisting health problems, so, again, we have to be extra careful.
I'm upset that this happened because, of course, with St. Louis's social gathering ban, that means that my prom, graduation, and debutante ball could all be canceled or postponed. However, I haven't been extremely upset because I realize that many people within the city have it much worse than me worrying about prom. We're going to have to do online classes, and many kids within the region don't have internet access or laptops. ...
