Maybe they now follow West Europe & Scandinavia on that,that means that huge big proffessional landlords are getting free hands on 7% rent (gives newbuild jobs). But small landlords are going to be abused in their own home by both the government & tenant.

When govt. sets artificial limits on prices, competition is reduced as investors seek other markets where their returns are not artificially limited. Good intention, but will certainly backfire in the form of less competition, fewer alternatives and lost jobs. Nice work!
