Oregon deputy fatally shoots chimpanzee after it bites owner's daughter

A sheriff's deputy shot and killed a pet chimpanzee at the owner's request after the animal had bitten the keeper's adult daughter in northeast Oregon, authorities said Wednesday.

"I've locked myself in the basement with her," Brogoitti told a 911 dispatcher."I can't get out to get my own gun. You're going to have to do a head shot." The deputies followed through with instructions to gun down the animal and Buck was fatally shot with one round to the head. "PETA warned state authorities that Tamara Brogoitti had created a ticking time bomb by engaging in direct contact with a dangerous ape, and now, he is dead and a woman has been mauled because of Brogoitti’s refusal to follow experts’ advice and transfer Buck to an accredited sanctuary," Brittany Peet said in a statement."Can you understand that this is a very painful time and we need to be left alone?" she asked before hanging up.

Jesus.. this still happens...didn't we learn about these dangers a while back. A lady had her face ripped off and lost some fingers.

Every animal on this earth,will act according to their species! Humans have the ability of for thought, because of our mental abilities! Animals do not have that ability! My thinking is if you put yourself in a position for a animal attack,you got what's coming! Use your brain!

There are chimpanzee sanctuaries in the US. Why didn't the deputy contact animal control? Oh, that's right, cops are sociopaths and get off killing things whether it be people, primates, dogs, you name it.

This poor creature didn’t ask to be anyone’s ‘pet’.
